Very, very scary, especially since Lex would make a *great* Lantern - he has willpower and imagination in spades! DC is notoriously unclear on these things, but I think in S4 Lantern!Lex would definitely have been stronger than Clark.
(Your icon was the first thing that made me laugh out loud this morning :D)
GL Lex! But what side would he be on? And telling Clark the truth, too...oh, crazy boys. Work it out, already!
Do you know that I never picked up a hair from your brush when I visited the loft? Do you know that I never stole a single piece of clothing you wouldn't have missed?
Yeah, if Lex really wanted to get serious...Clark spends so much time focused on what Lex does do that he misses all the things he could do but doesn't...
YAY, this would totally be better than some silly treasure hunt that's the Stones of Power plot! Think of all the fun Lex would have, being on a level playing field with Clark and an witch-possessed Lana. *sends psychic waves of persuasion for you to continue this*
And yay too, from Lex wearing a green Kryptonite ring and dealing with his dark side in a totally cliche way (regardless of how much enjoyable Onyx was), to discovering his inner potential as intergalactic law enforcement representative of Earth! Because after discovering Clark's alien secrets, and establishing LuthorCorp as a pioneer of scientific advancement (or something), what else would he do but channel his control freak tendencies to making things right in the world and protecting it from danger within and from space?
*has a secret love for Lex-as-superhero-at-heart AUs*

I think the fact that in, 80% of all Elseworlds/AU comics/toons where Superman is dead/evil/gone, Lex Luthor is a good guy really says it all.
I would love to see you write more of this! And, yes, blue_gold is writing something in a similar vein, but different authors can take the same core idea and go in wonderfully different directions with it. So give it a try! Pretty please? *nudges you hopefully*

His own, of course! I mean - can you imagine Lex joining the space police? I can't.
Your icon is the most appropriate thing for this story ever. The kryptonite ring was what spawned this story.

me neither!!
but I love this part for this:
//He would use it, the way he used it against his father, but gentler, and more terrible, if Clark let him. //
god, yes, terrible as the truth should be, a weapon more deadlier than anything!
