Yesterday, xparrot posted an amazing bit of meta about S5/6 Lex that completely turned my Lex characterization on its head. (Go read it!) Instead of dealing with it in any proper way, I wrote crackfic.

Extremely self-indulgent, long-ass, semi-serious crackfic.

I've always wanted to write a SV version of Diana, and before J'onn actually showed up on the show, of him. It was fun to write!

I love your J'onn characterization a lot in this story, and how it turns out that he's not really lying to Lex, he is in fact trying to save earth from destruction.

I heart J'onn to bits. I would love to see more of him on the show, and for him to interact with other people besides Clark.

OMZ! You wrote J'onn!fic! *loves you so hard* Even better: J'onn and Lex fic! With Clex! *flails at the awesome*

At this line, I knew this fic was going to be amazing:

"My name is J'onn J'onnz. And I will answer every question you may have."

*sob* Oh, Clark... If only you'd been more honest! *sobs some more* Clark and Lex are so very tragic, and Lex really does have so many good reasons to be suspicious of Clark, even if we know that he's wrong in the end, and just: *sobs*

And, also: Lex is a way cooler billionaire than Green Arrow. Any day. He need fear the competition not at all. :P

I can't really tell why I didn't write J'onn!fic before. He's such a great character.

I like Green Arrow and all, but yeah, he's no Lex ;)

YAY!! That was lovely. Lex deserves so much more credit then he gets. I loved him putting together a team of lesser known heroes with J'onn's help.

I really like the xparrot's meta, I wish I could believe that TPTB at Smallville actually respected, and loved like we do, Lex enough to give him that motivation - to make Lex be an hero.

And if it gets him Clark, more the better.

As long as the show doesn't directly contradict it, I'll consider xparrot's interpretation canon. I had accepted a genuinely evil Lex before, but this fits so much better with the Lex we've seen in S1-3.

I love this. It's so classically romantic - all these diverse characters on an odyssey together. You always weave the DC characters into the Smallville universe so well. And I adore that in this story, J'onn brings his own version of the Justice League together, with each new addition restoring Lex's humanity a little more.

And the last paragraphs are so erotic and wonderful. Clark and Lex finally surrendering to each other on an Amazon ship! *Sigh* Gorgeous!

It felt a bit like writing a high fantasy quest story to me, and a bit like roleplaying at the beginning of an adventure when you have to gather your party. That's why I said it was self-indulgent - I had a lot of fun writing it, but wasn't sure anyone else would.
