Devil's Deal, part two

Dec 28, 2006 11:42

Christmas was pretty busy this year, I celebrated with my family on the 24th (notable was only the unbelievably ugly pink-brown-grey-white bed linen I got from my grandma and the fact that my three-year old niece gets more presents than Dudley Dursley.) and with my friends on the 25th. Other than that, I gave my extensive manga collection to the ( Read more... )

Hawkgirl is totally hotter than Wonder Woman, but Diana is a tall, gorgeous brunette, and a walking talking ancient Greek, who also is as strong as Clark. She'd *so* be Smallville!Lex's type.

But what about Lex's Oedipus complex? XD

The beginning of this installation was really creepy; I was getting goosebumps and chills going down my back. Nicely done.

Ah, doesn't everyone love Superman's "I know what's best" attitude?

Favourite line's gotta be: He hates it when people presume things they don't know anything about. Everyone thinks they're able to judge, even though they're fools.

The one that Lionel says he has? (And I won't argue that Lex has *some* oedipal impulses, but the girls he dates are all brunettes, while his Mom was a red-head. I don't trust Lionel's interpretation on that.) And besides, Hawkgirl hits stuff with a maze. She doesn't really remind me of Lillian :D

Thanks! :)

Beyond the arrival of his visitor, there are only fragments, intangible as fog, turning to nothing whenever he tries to touch them. Echoes of conversation, of a familiar voice, like the memory of a dream. The after-taste of firm resolve, sweet and bitter like sugared coffee.

You use such beautiful phrasing in this fic. It make for a pleasurable, sensual read. Like each paragraph is a dark chocolate bon bon. Does that make any sense? :)

I know that Clark is being high-handed and a busybody here, but I'm with him in his worry about the contract. The consequences of Lex selling his soul seem very, very creepy to me--I loved the atmosphere you convey in the first part of this. Poor Lex and his need to back up his memory!

Actually, I think Clark is being pretty nice for Superman standards (and considering his shared history with Lex!)

Poor Lex and his need to back up his memory!
If I was Lex (or anyone living in SV), I would so do this.

That moment where Lex first meets Superman and offers an alliance is adapted from the first episode of the Superman animated series (where of course Lex doesn't know Superman's secret identity.)

I have like almost no knowledge about either comic or animated series canon, but I'm loving this story. :) I particularly love how Clark forgets about the rift between him and Lex the second Lex is in danger. :)
