justice_turtle asked for a Doctor Who band AU. This is... um, I let you decide what this is.

Also this is very a propos, since I just got my new loudspeakers developed and there's MUSIC. Without tinny sounds.

Fic: I gave it up for music
(Eight, Roberts!Master, Grace Holloway, all ages)
TV Movie, the Band AU. ( Grace has a mad English maybe-alien hiding behind her sofa, and his mad maybe-nemesis at her door, and only her ignorance of modern music to help her save the day. It's more annoying than brain surgery. )

OMG OMG, this is amazing. It is the perfect cover story, obviously - we Americans know nothing about Wales, or glam rock. I do want to find out what glam rock with a recorder and a harp sounds like, though.

Yeah, if Grace were British she could probably tell that Eight's accent isn't Welsh, although I'm not sure if there's a huge difference between Welsh and Liverpudlian.

Glam rock with recorder and harp would obviously sound fabulous.

To be fair, McGann's trained himself out of the Liverpool accent (probably so he can get work) (like my Southern accent, come to think), so how he talks as Eight, and even in interviews now, sounds very little like a Liverpudian.

i want to believe it is truuuuuue. the rani is so obviously from a glam rock bank - it must be true! also i love that grace has no notion about this modern music -

also, this must logically take place after the doctor walks through her window. although that is obviously the sort of talk that will make sure they don't end up in a glam rock super band... so clearly grace was right to call an ambulance for herself as she is clearly seeing things.

this is not a good review. its why i held it off until this morning. but what i mean to say is, i am pleased this exists in the world.

I refuse to consider the walking through glass bit canon. Eight and/or Grace are clearly hallucinating this, or it's a very clever illusion. Or maybe it's a trick the Doctor learned while living with a guru in India.

The Rani is clearly the only member of this band who takes music seriously. She'd embark on a successful solo career but inexplicably, the fans prefer scandals and weird experimental fashion to good music.
