In the Time Stamp Sequel meme, attaccabottoni asked for:

Like the next time Clark and Lex had sex (where Lex remembers this time) after "Devil's Deal", assuming they didn't just do it on Martha Kent's couch and within earshot of Conner? And so I reread some of Devil's Deal, and thought, "Gee, that is some mighty uncomplicated first time Clark had with soulless! Ahhh...unsatisfying sex is always weirdly satisfying for me, because they're going to keep trying and it proves how it's about more than just that and, yeah. I like 3 the best, the whole idea, Clark cracking up - hee!

3 is what kinky sex would inevitably end like if I tried it. I mean, how can people who are into stuff like BDSM stay serious? I have a hard time staying serious during Fantasy RPGs!

This was fun. :) Especially liked 3 with Clark laughing and 4 when they both nervous enough and ended up fighting. But they inevitably found their way. :)

Thanks! Perfect sex is what we read porn for, but I think in romance, once in a while, bad sex is even sweeter if you can laugh about it.

I think this worked really well--it's like a microcosm of the complicated mix of cynicism and hope in Devil's Deal, and really in Clark/ Lex interaction in general.

Perfect timing! I just re-read "Devil's Deal" - It's a great story, even better the third time around! I'm so glad you wrote this little companion piece to go with it.

Love that the five scenarios feature different degress of awkwardness, laughter and anxiety on both sides, which is very realistic under the circumstances! And I love how these two passages beautifully mirror each other:

Lex stares at him for a long moment, and then he laughs, a soft snort, at the pun. The simple truth dissolves all his doubts and fears, and with bone-tired happiness, he rests his head on Clark's bare chest.

Clark buries his face at Lex shoulder, cowardly wishing there were worlds to save. "It was a really stupid idea to wait this long, wasn't it?"

Adorable!
