Hey guys! :D It's been a long time (since Agora) since I've written my thoughts about a movie, and mere reason being... I rarely see anything good enough to compel me to write about it. xD  But, as always, European cinema is full of treasures, and this one deserves a mention me thinks.

Yes, Sunshine is a brilliant movie! Reminds me to watch it again ... and Cillian Murhpy is great :)

Did you happen to come across any information as to whether the director felt his hand forced to play up the 'monster/madness' guy? I still felt the poignancy of the film's last gripping images were deadened somewhat by the corny monster flick intrusions. But I can still appreciate the film as a whole regardless. My gauge for whether a film is hokey is counting eyerolls, as you know. I did not roll my eyes once throughout the film..which is more than can be said for most contemporary US made sci-fi films.

I didn't, though several critics did feel the slasher element was introduced to appeal to teen audience.

The creative director did comment on having to use "light" as a motif for fear (most films use darkness), which I did find interesting. :)
