Not quite sure what to say about this, other than wow. I honestly don't remember Duara's Rescuing History From the Nation grabbing me this much, so I should probably go back and re-read it ( Read more... )

Yeah, I liked it. My books seemed to be paired up randomly into good/bad - I got more about Sino-Japanese relations and different ways of looking at things than out of the Fogel book.

Really liked this one. Intense, but lucid.
