Hello. I notice you have a lot of lovely classical Korean poetry in your journal; any recommendations for an English language anthology? :)

There aren't as many classical Korean anthologies in English as there are in Chinese or Japanese. "Slow Chrysanthemums" by Anvil Press is good; so is "The Moonlit Pond" by Copper Canyon Press. "Slow Chrysanthemums" has the original Chinese text accompanying the English versions, so if you like T'ang poetry you may like this one.

I hope you don't mind, but I found you using a search under "Chinese classics" or something or other. Always wanting to meet ppl with similar interests.

No problem at all (I'm a bit jealous of my friends with a massive collection of interesting people hanging around their journals), though the 'classics' in my interests list technically refers to Latin and Greek stuff. ;) I'm a bit mad for Tang dynasty poetry & 'stuff' in general, so I suppose the definition is getting broader ...

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll keep my eye peeled here in Taipei. My Chinese isn't anywhere near the point of being able to tackle classical Chinese, so any Chinese language sources on things I'm interested in are out (which is a constant irritation for me) - hopefully by this time next year, I will be starting to wade into it. But for the present, it's English translations for me!
