Of course it is unsolicited and the "America West" is probably just some generic name the individal made up to call what he is doing a business.
Of course, could be a scam. My business I run for Ambit Energy requires a Social Security number for a discount on natural gas usage but its not a scam.

Honestly, timeshare demonstrations are the way to go if you want a cheap trip somewhere nice. You just gotta devote half a day out of your week to take a tour of some property that, sure is a little high pressure, but you just gotta say no a bunch of times. No excuses, just no. Then again, some timeshare deals nowadays are for deed ownership so it actually holds some value that you can resell or trade with somebody for whatever week you want to use.
