no, we haven't forgotten. I'm not exactly "foaming at the mouth", and i'm going to see if they screw us or not. I am a casual FFXI player(which means my life isn't devoted to the game), and I agree that they need to figure out a better solution for the server issues, like find a better solution for update processes/server maintenance because ever time I log on, some server has had to have emergency maintenance of some sort.
Please also keep in mind this was Square's first attempt to run something like this. I'm not defending them, and it's took tham years to realize they screwed up.
However I do appreciate the more attention to solo play FF14 is supposed to offer.
Eh, I was more relating to the blatant timesinks in the game. Standing around for hours for stuff to pop, retardedly low drop rates, items with hidden abilities that made them borderline useless (that goldsmithing axe), the skill system, the pure speed at which you get to level, etc.
With other MMOs you can generally solo your way up to cap easily and don't need to spend full days of time farming items just for an iffy shot at the next tier of pop items, repeated 3 layers (Sea)
Your life pretty much had to be devoted to it to get far in the game. I was a level 75 monk/warrior/bard/samurai with full gear on the bard, so I've done everything there is to do. It wasn't a game, it was a cult.
but..but the Castlevania has Patrick Stewart in it!!!!! LOL
Other than what has been said about the FFXI shutdown scare, with the announcements of FF14, I'm not too fond of most of the new stuff. I'll admit I play FFXI, and I'm a FF follower, but *sohelpmegod* they screw all FFXI players with he release of FF14, I'm not going to continue supporting the franchise.
ONLINE?! NOOOOO, WHYYYY?!?! I thought they learned their lesson the first time...
*and Metal Gear: Rising*
Lighting Bolt Action? WTF?? Meh, at least Raiden's cool now, so people will at least give a crap about the plot.
*and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow*
Hm, the series could use a different take on it and I'd be all for it if Kojima's the man running the show.
*and Metroid: Other M*
Honestly, this is the biggest thing of them all that I'm excited for. Think about it. We've been waiting for a Metroid like this since the freakin' 64 came out. Plus it looks like it has the helmet view from Prime in it too, so we get the best of both worlds.

Did they already forget just how bad and poorly run/maintained a game it was?
