This series does get confusing at times... I know at the end of volume 2 when that girl, Iori showed up, I wasn't sure what to expect. What was going on with Akiyama and her wasn't entirely clear in this volume either, but... I thought that Akiyama was upset with himself after he first told Kei he wanted to help, but then didn't actually dare to get himself involved. I thought I could sort of relate to that feeling... when you see someone suffering, and you feel like you have no idea how to help them, so it would be easier to just pretend you didn't notice and ignore the problem. Something like that...

I'll probably read over the series again when the last volume comes out too.
