Ooh, special edition magazine!! My great weakness... It sounds neat! I wonder if the "fantasy" in the name means the stories will be fantasy-themed spinoffs?? Like that one story in Here is Greenwood, or like the reverse of Dawn of the Arcana and its highschool chapters. Hmmm.
I haven't watched Meganebu! yet. I love the idea, but the trailer I saw did give the impression that it would be pretty fluffy and insubstantial in execution. Free! spoiled me.
I was hoping it would be similar to Free! but it was disappointing, I don't care for any characters at all. That special edition does sound interesting. Did you see the news about LaLa Melody online magazine on November 22 ANN again. But it didn't say how to sign up or it will be available worldwide or only in Japan.
We saw all your negative comments about Meganebu!, so we had to see it for ourselves, especially because we wanted to watch it anyway and we're big fans of silliness. After one episode, we wouldn't say it's too silly. In fact, it almost seems like it wants to be super silly, but it's afraid to commit. It's holding back because it doesn't want to be too over the top, but with a premise like that, you're going to be over the top anyway, so just accept it and make it awesome. The fear of commitment may also be a cause of its pacing problems--a show with that type of silliness needs to move faster, like Cuticle Detective Inaba. That show really knows how to be silly and awesome at the same time.
"In fact, it almost seems like it wants to be super silly, but it's afraid to commit. ... its pacing problems" You pointed out the problems that I couldn't, thank you for that. At the beginning when there was a pink robot, I thought wow, I didn't expect that and thought it may be promising, but it wasn't. I haven't heard about "Cuticle Detective Inaba" until you mentioned it and it's available on Crunchyroll, too. It seems over-the-top from what I read on wiki. Maybe I'll check it out.
