      - The story is about a Japanese American girl growing up in Iowa, then Georgia in the 1950s, and her family.
      - It's a good book. I like it a lot.

Poor JManga... I always wondered what kind of numbers their bestsellers got, since SoreMachi frequently ended up on the list, yet I didn't hear many people talking about it. Viz at least has more mainstream titles and recognition. And print, of course-digital is a bonus on top of that.

I have to read the first volume of Mme Joker! I bought that fairly early on, one of several books I bought on JM and never read.

They did try for almost 2 years, and I did hope they would last. I don't suppose you'd heard the news before the sudden email?

Nope, the news came just as suddenly to us as to anyone else! Maybe I could have picked up on hints, as I hadn't heard of any new assignments for a month or two before, but there were other quiet spells in the past, and they still hadn't released the last three books I lettered. (never will now... sad!)
