I am glad that we made our reservations for Sunday at Craigie on Main yesterday rather than today, as today there was a fine review of it in the Globe.  Sunday night the menu is chef's whim, I'm looking forward to it.

I did wonder if this quote from the review might perhaps be someone I know:

It wasn't me; the last few conversations I've had with Tommy have consisted of me apologizing for not having made it over to Craigie yet. :/

And if I had a rule of not ordering things I already have at home, I'd never be out drinking. =)

if you are planning to go for the chef's tasting menu and you have some food that you are particularly fond of, you can call them up a day or 2 before and ask if he can somehow include that preference in your tasting menu. he can do some quite amazing things with a little notice. and I think he enjoys the challenge.

We used to partake of the Chef's Whim a lot when we lived in Cambridge. *sigh* It's always interesting and most of the time very good. Things you never would otherwise order are pleasantly surprising. We miss it.
