My favorite story is a few years back. A homeless man died in New Orleans and was going to be buried in Potter's Field when someone heard he had passed. It turns out the homeless man was a Voudou priest who years ago had blessed a man's business and the business did quite well. This man made some calls, and a full-blown jazz funeral complete with a 2nd line was arranged, and a special dispensation granted to allow the Second Line to go through the Quarter, and reports said that there were over 1,000 people in the second line.
