Gig #1
The next few weeks are filled with gigs, tonight was The Faint, supported by Pomomofo and Spod. Well worth the trouble.
In attendance was myself, missmilky, zoog, destroyx and flip_flop_flip - Little James supplied drinks.
Pomofo seem like one of those bands that will sound great in the studio, but on stage, the singer gets too excited and does the whole scream/jump/run/scream thing. Still, the band seemed quite good, even if the live keyboards were overshadowed by the pre-recorded.
Spod was fun, silly, geeky, glitchy, 8-bit fun. Might add to the "see again" list.
The Faint... as awesome as I expected, rockier than I thought, and mixed the old with the new with perfection. \m/
All up, a good crowd, even if a few too many mexican-hats, headbands and "I'm so cool" types were there.
Next up, live-wise, is the UTBM launch, then Ladytron and Does It Offend You, Yeah? Non-live, the Art Gropie launch at Tap Gallery tomorrow-night, then dinner at the Soup Kitchen before Shallow Nation. People are welcome to join.
