I Have An Owie!

So, as some of my friends already know, just over a week ago I had one of those really stupid accidents in the home that shouldn't happen but did. I was cleaning the bath, knelt funny, tried to get my weight off my stupidly painful knee and fell sideways onto the rim of the bath. Result = probable cracked rib, which hurts whenever I do pretty much ( Read more... )

life sucks, ouch, real life

Nothing much they can do for a cracked rib, is there? Hope it heals fast. I once hurt my back coughing while reaching into an upper cupboard. That coughing stuff is dangerous. Feel better soon.

All they can do is prescribe painkillers I can't take because they aggravate my stomach. The only thing that will help is time, about 6 weeks or so *sighs*

The last thing I need now is to get a cough, because that is truly agonising. The rib on its own is quite bad enough.

Thank you *virtual hug*

Thank you *hugs back* I'm doing my best, just trying to keep from hurting it more.

*cringes* Owwoowowowwouch! Oh, that so sucks; I'm sorry. :( I hope it'll heal up soon. If I were there, I'd do your decorating for you, and make it as Christmassy as I could.

(Also, totally random: I just got home from deliveries, and, when I first saw the subject line, I read it as, I got an owlet. Now that I've actually had time to read the entry properly, along with the subject line, I feel kinda silly.)

Heeee! I wish! I adore owls! Sadly, no owlet, but I've done that before and completely misread something. It's very confusing, but can be quite fun!

Awww, thanks, I bet it would look beautiful =)

Never mind, I've done without decorations other years, and without Christmas dinner. I'll be okay. There are more important things to me than Christmas decorations - my wonderful friends on LJ and DW for one *hugs*

*hugs you back* Ribs pain is nasty because you use them for everything you do. Hopefully it will heal quickly. *Sends JJ over to take care of your decorating for you*

*hugs* Thank you.

I'm sure everything will be very tasteful thanks to JJ ;)

Yeah, this is my second time around with rib trouble, and having a coal fire heating the house doesn't help, shovelling coal and ash *sigh* Ah well, I managed last time and I'll manage this time too.

Do you have a brace or wrap you can use?

That's not done these days, it constricts breathing and can lead to respiratory diseases, or so my doctor told me last time. It's just rest and painkillers, but since I can't take painkillers that are strong enough to reduce the pain, that leaves me with rest. *shrugs* Good thing I have high tolerance for pain. =/
