As someone who just drove two wailing cats to and from the vet today (and it was a 15-minute trip, each way), I can sympathize!

The trip up sounded lovely, though the one back is not going to be nearly as nice.

Yeah, a policeman's lot is not a happy one, as the song goes. Still, at least the first half of the round trip was enjoyable!

(And I am so grateful to my late father for bringing me a road atlas of America home from a trip - it's amazingly useful for FAKE fics!)

Maps are amazing things. Good for you for taking the time to research. Too many people don't bother to do that.

I try to research when I can, especially places. I was going to use Chicago at first, but that was too far, 12.5 hours by road each way, so then I looked at Baltimore but that was too close, they could hove gone there and back in a day, but I wanted a big city so Cleveland got lucky ;)
