That was just wonderful. So many brilliant lines. Liked this one particularly: 'Something in the tone of Jack’s voice makes Ianto turn to face him, and he almost forgets to breathe. Jack’s staring right at him, as though nothing else exists.' Made my breath catch in my throat...and that ending...just gorgeous :D xxx

*mad squeeeing*

Ahem, sorry, got a bit over excited there!

I was really worried about this one, for several reasons - firstly, it's almost canon, which for me is unfamiliar territory. Secondly, it's all present tense, which is weird to write in but it just wanted to be written that way. Thirdly, I wasn't sure if the I love you seemed forced - I so desperately needed it in there but every time I wanted to put it, they insisted on talking about something else! Had a devil of a job manoeuvring them into place to say it!

So glad you liked it, I feel very relieved that it wasn't a disaster! Thankyou!

*Huge Hugs* xxx

It works on so many levels so panic not - it's brilliant and present tense makes it so poignant - it's here and now and that just seems to crank up the emotional impact... The I love you is just perfect... *proud hugs and spins you round* xxx

Thanks for the encouragement. The arrival back at the Hub practically wrote itself, but I stalled at Jack's Big Damn Hero line, the rest is what's been added since. Turned out longer than I thought it would. Just so glad that someone likes it, after all, it was kinda my first, even if it was the sixth to be finished! *happy hugs* xxx

*grins* Thankyou kindly! It was the first fic I ever started, so it's been a long time getting here. It's also as close to writing canon as I'll ever get! I'm not usually one for writing even slightly angsy, but I watched Journey's End and then read a post-Journey's End fic that inspired this... just wish I could remember who it was by!

So glad you liked it =D

Absolutely wonderful...I REALLY like how you elaborated on canon WITHOUT making it seem so overtly...fan-ficcish.
This is more like a missing scene, (a real missing scene)
Job well done!

Thank you, what a huge compliment! *blushes*

I must admit, I don't usually write anything even remotely canon, but this came to me and just had to be written. I hated that we didn't get to see Jack's return and his reaction to the devastation of the Hub. It's one of my biggest problems with Torchwood, but also one of the biggest advantages since it leaves so many gaps to be filled in.

Thanks for reading and commenting =)

Beautiful scene! Even to the point of Jack forgetting that he had already seen Ianto alive and well. I especially loved that last line.

Good job!

Thankyou so much! I figured Jack would see the damage and just panic, confronted with that it would be hard to think clearly! Especially as he knows how lethal Daleks are.

I really wasn't sure if that last line would work or not, but I needed an ending and it was the only thing I could think of!

Thanks for reading and commenting =)
