Thanks to everyone who left suggestions for Ianto's alias, I've saved all the suggestions for later use and due to various people making Bond-related suggestions, I've settled on him borrowing the name of an actor who appeared in many Bond movies - Q himself, Desmond Llewellyn, or Des for short

You could always go with Myfanwy, in remembrance of his favorite pteranodon.

I do think he'd go for something in Welsh, though.

I think calling her Myfanwy might confuse readers.

Ianto might choose a Welsh name, but if the TARDIS chose her own name, would she go with Welsh? Which I guess is why I'm having trouble with the whole idea and have reached chapter 15 without giving her a name o_O

That's an intriguing idea, I'll have to look up the Welsh for home and maybe the Japanese too, in memory of Tosh, see if either would work as a name =)

He would. She's gone now, but he remembers her and has shared his memories with his TARDIS so she sort of remembers too.

as in Moneypenney = Bond reference
as in "Like a bad penny"
a "Penny for your thoughts"
"the penny drops"
and others.
...or it's equivalent in another language.

or maybe Rhiannon for his sister
I also like the idea of a name related to Tosh, too.
