We do. Whatever went wrong, they must have fixed it again.
Of course, getting the water back caused its own problems. There was a lot of air in the pipes so when I turned the tap on, I ended up soaked with icy water and had to change my clothes. *headdesk*
(We had the pipe burst a few years ago. Never want to go through that again!)
They must have found the problem and fixed it, we have water in the pipes.
Unfortunately, we also had AIR in the pipes, so when I turned on the tap, it gurgled, spluttered, coughed and then ice cold water came out with so much force I got soaked and had to change most of my clothes. And I only had the tap on a little; I dread to think what would have happened if I'd turned it on full!
Today has just not been my day, in some respects. That's not to say nothing good has happened, there's just been a lot more bad than I would have liked.
Usually, when our water goes out for whatever reason, I also get brown sludge and whatnot the first few minutes. You always need to stand back when turning it on the first time. It's like a power surge, only wet. :)
I actually know this, from past experience, but I was tired from spending all morning shopping, and my brain was on go slow mode, so by the time it clicked, it was too late, I was already wet.
The weirdest part? Not a trace of brown sludge at any point, which leads me to suspect the mains for the area was turned off for some reason and there wasn't a burst main at all.
Whatever it was, it was dealt with a few hours later, thankfully, although air in the water pipes afterwards led to be getting soaked when the tap spat! I should have been expecting that, but I was tired and stressed and not thinking. The whole day was a series of minor disasters.
That is rubbish. It's so annoying when you lose something like that that you normally just take for granted. Makes you really appreciate it when you can just turn on a tap and have water there. Hope the outage didn't last too long!
Just about 5 hours, but we didn't know if it would be fixed that day or not. If I'd known it would be fixed in a few hours, I wouldn't have worried, but they couldn't even say for sure what the problem was, never mind when it would be fixed. *shrugs*
