Help?

Jan 14, 2014 11:46

Can anyone explain to me in small, easy to understand words how to add a picture of my shiny new prize on my profile page?

It's the first thing I've ever won for my writing and I really want to display it properly.

Pretty please?

hugs f-list, help needed

Congratulations! :)

I can walk you through it after I get back from taking my partner's daughter to school.

If you get this before I get back, you can start by uploading the picture to a website we can link to. LJ scrapbook should be fine, or a site like photobucket if you already use one.

The rest involves a bit of HTML which I really shouldn't attempt until I have coffee and a little more time. :-p

I've plonked the size I plan to use in my LJ scrapbook. I'll check out your other instructions in a minute =)

Thank you!

If you upload the image to the LJ scrapbook, you will have the option of copy and pasting the regular link which looks like this:

http://blahblah.livejournal.com....

The one you want to be able to pop in to your profile, looks a little more like this:

*<*img src="......">*

Without all the *...

CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks, hon!

I'm so proud! It was only a drabble challenge, a three by three prompt table, but I completed all the squares. Twice. =D

Maybe if there was a Fluff bingo I'd try that, but the closest seems to be cotton candy bingo and I don't know if the mods will ever run another round =(

I tried posting my instructions but LJ freaked out at the purposely invalid links and made a mess off it. I'll email it to you. Please stand by! :)

I think it's arrived so I'll go and see if I can succeed!

I've been away from the computer half the afternoon helping mum test drive a possible new mobility scooter as the one she's got, the forward and reverse levers are worked with the thumbs and her arthritis is so bad in her thumbs they keep slipping off the controls. I got frozen half to death, but mum eventually decided that she'd part exchange hers for this other one, which has wing mirrors and fingertip controls. I hope she'll actually use this one!

You should post the banner twice, since you completed the challenge twice. ;)

Sounds like you found a good scooter! Hopefully your mum will come to like it.

The trouble is, she keeps buying them then doesn't use them. Honestly, I'm not sure she'll ever leave the house on her own again, but having one makes her feel she could if she wanted to, so I guess it's worth it. I drove her last one more than she did, just to give it a bit of excercise once in a while.

Lol! I think 'll just have it up once, to leave room for future banners - you never know, maybe I'll win another one someday!

Thank you! *hugs* I was one of three winners, we all completed the challenge with 9 drabbles for 9 different prompts, but I did it twice, 'cause I'm a glutton for punishment, lol!

I have a Yay! Jack icon on my dreamwidth account, you could snag that one.

Thanks! I will check out your Jack Yay! icon. :)
...and it sounds like you had fun with the drabbles.

I did! I'm amazed by how much I enjoy drabbling. I'm trying to make sure I write at least one every day so I have a stockpile ready for posting. My problem last year was, I was only weriting them for the official tw100 prompts, so there would be days on end when I had nothing to post. Now, because I've asked people to leave prompts, I have lots of them to spark ideas, which is so cool. It means I have things to post while I'm writing more!

I got help and my banner is up on my profile page! YAY! It looks very pretty!
