Speechless

I'm speechless and completely stunned - I just received a sympathy card from my vet with a lovely and quite lengthy handwritten note expressing sympathy over Misty's death and apologising for not being able to make him better.

How many vets would do that? George is one in a million.

That is a true testament to how lovely your vet is, and how wonderful a rabbit Misty was. <3

It really is, he didn't have to do that but he did it anyway, he's such a caring person.

With my old vet, when one of my guinea pigs died during surgery, I just got handed a bill to pay on the spot and my sweet little Ruffles handed to me in a plactic bag. They were never considerate about anything that wasn't a dog or a cat. I'm so glad I changed vets a few years ago.

George is incredidle - doesn't matter if it's a dog or a chicken, your pet receives the same level of care and consideration. George talks to and strokes his patients throughout treatment, he's very calming and gentle and never loses patience. So completely different from my previous vet. Misty and I were both very lucky.

He's a true animal lover, and he respects and understands the bond between pet and person. i couldn't have a better vet.

It really does. My previous vet wouldn't have done anything of the sort, just handed over the bill and expected immediate payment.

Wow. That's so sweet. He must have known how much Misty meant to you.

Well, he's been treating Misty for years because of his teeth, so he knew I was dedicated to caring for my rabbit whatever it took. I'm guessing a lot of rabbit owners would have given up years ago because of the expense and all the medicating but Misty was otherwise healthy and happy, there was no reason to give up until now, when there were just too many things wrong and he wasn't responding to treatment.

George is just the best vet I've ever come across.
