A/N: Double drabble.
Alarms were going off in the Hub, with lots of noise and flashing lights. The first time Nosy had experienced something like this, it had been so startled and afraid that it had tried to hide under the coffee table, an exercise in futility since there was too much of it to fit under anything so small. And that had only been the cogwheel door alarms.
This was more than that, much more. There were sounds blaring out of the computers, and Nosy’s friends were rushing around purposefully, fetching things, while Tosh sat at her desk, looking at her computer screens, reading whatever was on them. It all spelled out one thing to Torchwood’s Fluff: EMERGENCY!
Nosy slithered to its play area, where it would be out of the way, all the time wishing there was something it could do to help, but it knew there wasn’t. If the world needed saving, its friends would get on with the task, because that was what
they did.
Ianto appeared, crouching down, taking a moment to provide reassurance amidst the chaos. “Don’t worry, we’ll soon have everything under control. Just stay here.”
“Hum,” Nosy agreed. Someday, maybe IT would save the world…
