Sneaking down to the archives, Jack carefully draped the old sheet over himself, shifting it around until the eyeholes he’d cut were in the right place so he could see where he was going. This was going to be brilliant; he couldn’t wait to see the look on Ianto’s face when he jumped out at him.
Halloween was the best time of year, with all the scary ghost stories and spooky fun. With only a couple of days to go before the big night, it was time he got his spook on.
He’d taken the precaution of removing his boots so Ianto wouldn’t hear him coming, and his socked feet made barely a whisper as he crept along the corridor to the area Ianto used as his office. He knew that was where Ianto was most likely to be, doing the paperwork for the latest batch of Rift gifts, or possibly filing reports in the bank of cabinets along the wall…
Gliding into the room, making a suitably ghostly WHOOooooOOOOOoooOOOOooo sound, he couldn’t help feeling deflated when all Ianto did was burst out laughing.
“Sorry, Jack, there’s just nothing scary about a blue striped ghost with holes in its socks.”
