Owen wasn’t a particularly nice person, and Tosh knew that. He was rude, insensitive, bad-tempered, arrogant, drank too much, and seemed intent on sleeping with every single woman in Cardiff between the ages of eighteen and forty, probably a few who weren’t single as well. Most of the time he was, as Suzie would say, an obnoxious arse.
Really, he was the last person she should have developed feelings for, and to be honest, she didn’t understand that herself. It wasn’t as if he was ever going to be interested in her, not in a romantic way. She couldn’t even claim they were friends. In the six months Owen hard been working for Torchwood Three, about the only times he’d spoken to her were during medical checkups or when he’d needed her help with something.
None of that mattered though. As unpleasant and annoying as he usually was, it hadn’t stopped her developing a crush on him. Maybe it was her mother’s fault; growing up, Tosh had been repeatedly told she would do well to marry a doctor or a lawyer, someone who made good money, but Owen was the only doctor she knew.
She was doomed to remain single.
