“Hold on,” Buffy begged Angel, not sure he could even hear her. He was delirious, in the grip of a raging fever thanks to the poison working its way through his body. In his rare lucid moments, he tried to assure Buffy it was okay, he’d accepted that he was going to die and there was nothing anyone could do about it. He was being so brave, but having to watch him suffering was tearing Buffy apart.
Angel was wrong about one thing though, there WAS something she could do, one cure for the poison, the only one, and it was something she of all people had access to: the blood of a Slayer. Not that she had any intention of using her own blood, not unless there was no other choice, but Faith’s blood… Yeah, that she could and would use, with pleasure. Faith had fired the arrow that had poisoned Angel, so it was only fitting that she should provide the cure, and if it killed her, well, it was no more than she deserved.
“Don’t you dare give up,” Buffy whispered in Angel’s ear. “I’m not letting you die. I’ll do whatever it takes to cure you.”
