A/N: Triple drabble.
“Where’s your sense of adventure?”
“Excuse me?” Ianto stared at his lover in disbelief. “I let you drag me to an alien planet and you’re questioning my sense of adventure?”
“This isn’t earth.”
“I had noticed that.” Ianto let his gaze wander around their unearthly surroundings.
“So what’s the problem?”
“Far as I’m concerned, there isn’t one. You’re the one who seems to think there is.”
“I just want you to enjoy the local entertainments.”
“I thought it was more a case of you wanting me to enjoy the locals.”
“It amounts to the same thing. Around here, sex is just another way of saying hello.”
“A rather more intimate way than I’m used to.”
“But very enjoyable. I never knew you were such a prude!”
“I’m not! I just prefer to get to know people a bit before going to bed with them.”
“If that’s what’s bothering you, we can go to a bar, have a few drinks, get to know a few people…”
And that, Ianto supposed, was how he wound up here, dining nude with two blue, tentacled… people. So far, it was proving quite enjoyable. Maybe Jack was right, it couldn’t hurt to be more adventurous. Besides, he HAD agreed to this, however hesitantly. When in Rome, or on an alien planet, you followed the local customs if you wanted to fit in, no matter how bizarre they appeared.
Perhaps it was time he shed his twenty-first century inhibitions. Now that he was immortal like Jack, it was likely they’d eventually leave earth behind, so he should start getting acclimatised before that day came.
Five days later, they reluctantly left their new friends’ residence, promising to visit next time they were passing. Ianto was smiling; Jack had been right about tentacles… He’d received quite an education!
