“This is the life,” River murmured, stretched out on warm grass with her head resting on the Doctor’s lap, and one arm flung across her eyes to shield them from the brightness of the sun. She rarely had the opportunity to relax and do nothing at all, except when she was locked away in the Stormcage, mulling over her next escapade. Just as she was about to drift off…
“We should be doing something!” The Doctor jumped up and River’s head dropped to the ground with a thud.
She sighed. “I was. A little warning would have been nice, Sweetie.”
