A/N: Double drabble.
By anyone else’s standards, Jack’s quarters beneath his office in the Hub were on the cramped side, even for one person, but Jack had never minded. He didn’t need much, and small spaces didn’t bother him; he’d piloted plenty of one-person spaceships that made his bunker look almost indecently spacious by comparison. By himself, his hole in the ground was perfectly adequate. It was when a second person was added to the mix that things got a bit awkward.
Two people in the narrow room had to squeeze past each other to get anywhere, or climb over the sparse furnishings, and as for the bed… The old army cot against the wall was good enough for someone who didn’t need much sleep, but for two six-foot men, squeezing into it together was a bit like trying to play twister in the boot of a small car.
In Jack’s opinion, that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. There was a lot to be said for holding Ianto close all night to ensure that neither of them fell out of bed. It was cosy, and comforting, and with Ianto sleeping in his arms, Jack could at least be sure his lover was safe.
