Summary: Not content with picking up companions at random, the Doctor acquires a souvenir on a visit to earth.

The Doctor staggered into the TARDIS, struggling beneath the weight of his unwieldy burden.
“What on earth have you got there?”
“Oh, Tegan, wonderful! Give me a hand with this, would you? It’s a bit heavy.”
Under other circumstances, Tegan probably would have refused, but she was curious. “Do you drag old bits of wood home with you often?”
“I thought it might brighten the place up!”
As they propped it up against the wall, Tegan got a good look at it. “Wait a minute; isn’t this a cricket scoreboard?”
“Brilliant, isn’t it!”
“Don’t you think somebody might miss it?”
