A/N: Double drabble. Set in my Ghost of a Chance ‘Verse.
Halfway up the steep slope, Ianto sat down on a convenient rock to rest. Going for a hike had been a great idea, in theory; he and Jack could probably use the exercise after four months cooped up inside their ship, travelling from one space station to the next, only venturing out to negotiate for new cargoes. In practice, however, it was proving more tiring than Ianto would have expected.
He'd thought he and Jack were keeping themselves in decent shape, exercising almost every day, both in their small onboard gym, and in the bedroom, as well as moving cargo pods around by hand, but Ianto was well and truly out of puff.
“Maybe we should’ve chosen a shorter hike, or a smaller hill to climb,” he said, once he’d regained enough breath to speak. “Or maybe we should’ve avoided hills altogether. It didn’t look so steep from the bottom.”
Jack dragged himself upwards the last few feet to join his lover, collapsing beside him. “I don’t think it’s the steepness of the hill that’s the problem.”
“I know, we’re out of shape, not exercising enough.”
“No.” Jack shook his head. “It’s just the gravity’s stronger than we’re used to.”
