A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
JJ simply couldn’t understand why Dee continued to spurn his advances. He’d offered Mr Wonderful everything, showered him with gifts, or at least tried to, made reservations at some of New York’s finest restaurants, promised his undying devotion, and it had gotten him precisely nowhere. What more did Dee want?
Perhaps he found the generosity embarrassing, since he wouldn’t be able to treat JJ the same way, not on a detective’s salary. JJ knew he was fortunate in that he didn’t really need to work; he had an ample monthly allowance from the trust fund his parents had set up for him, and he owned his penthouse apartment outright. Perhaps he should be more sensitive regarding Dee’s lack of funds.
Still, Dee could at least show some appreciation. It had taken JJ quite a while to track Dee down and get himself transferred to the same precinct as the man of his dreams. He’d thought it would be a happy reunion, that they’d fall into each other’s arms, but that hadn’t happened and even now, months later, Dee was still keeping him at arm’s length.
It simply didn’t make sense; what was Dee waiting for? Didn’t he understand that the two of them were meant to be together? It was their destiny, written in the stars! By now it should be all hearts and flowers, romantic candlelit dinners, nights filled with passion!
Instead, Dee spent all his time mooning over his partner and crushing JJ’s dreams underfoot. It wasn’t fair!
