A/N: Double drabble. Set in my Through Time and Space ‘Verse.
Travelling the universe in his TARDIS, Ianto had already encountered members of at least fifty alien races. While many were basically humanoid, with two arms, two legs, a body, and a head at the top, many others were like nothing he’d ever seen before, even during his years with Torchwood.
By now, he’d become so used to making the acquaintance of bizarre beings that it had ceased to bother him. If they were friendly, then he ignored their appearance and behaved as his TARDIS instructed him, in order to avoid causing offence.
“What race might you be?” the entity before him enquired. “I have never seen your like before. Your appearance is most strange.”
Ianto could have said the same about her. She was a good eight feet tall, a globular yellow body standing on three long tentacles, capped with feathery antennae and three eyes on stalks, each of them looking in a different direction. There were three mouths too, each one positioned above an arm tentacle.
“I’m a human, your grace,” Ianto replied in Galactic Standard. “From the planet earth.”
“I have heard tales of your world, but believed it a myth.”
“Sometimes I think that myself,” Ianto admitted.
