A/N: Double drabble.
The long, gruelling year of torment was finally over, time had been rewound, and the devastated earth was back as it should be. As far as any of its inhabitants were concerned, everything Jack and the others who’d been aboard the Valliant remembered had never happened.
It was a relief, especially knowing that his team would be waiting in Cardiff, safe and sound. Watching them being brutally murdered by the Master and being unable to do anything to help them had been the worst part of Jack’s ordeal. He knew they’d probably be angry with him for leaving them without so much as a goodbye, but he could accept their recriminations, just as long as they were alive and unharmed.
Soon, the Doctor would drop him off in Cardiff; Jack could hardly wait. During the months the Master had spent torturing him, it was thoughts of his team that had kept him sane, remembering incidents from the past, and making plans for the future. One of the first things he intended to do when he got home was to ask Ianto out on a proper date. He could only hope that the young Welshman would forgive him and say yes.
