BtVS Double Drabble: Slayer Dreams

Summary: Buffy’s dreams can sometimes be more than dreams.

A/N: Double drabble.
Buffy dreams about Angel. Like, a lot. Daydreams about the good stuff, the dating, the kissing, the other things that they haven’t done yet but that she wants to do, with him, when the time is right. She wants him to be her first, her only, because she can’t see any further ahead than him, and honestly there might not be anything for her beyond that. Slayers tend to live short but eventful lives.
There are other dreams though, the Slayer kind, filled with portents, heavy with feelings of foreboding. Prophetic dreams. They’re always bad, but the ones featuring Angel are the worst. After all she’s seen and experienced, few things can make Buffy’s blood run cold, but seeing Angel explode into a cloud of dust before her eyes, the dust settling to reveal Drusilla, standing there gleeful with a stake in her hand…
Drusilla is supposed to be dead, but what if she isn’t? What if she’s somewhere waiting to take revenge? God, what if she already has? Buffy has to know, has to make sure Angel’s okay, but even when she’s right in front of him, the fear remains. It could still happen. Losing him would be unbearable.
