A/N: Double drabble.
Blustery weather wasn’t unusual, what with Cardiff being right on the coast. At certain times of the year, getting almost blown inside out on Rift retrievals wasn’t worth mentioning, aside from warning the rest of the team about conditions.
Today though, the wind had come out of nowhere; the remnants of a hurricane that had been expected to blow itself out over the Atlantic had reached land with considerably more strength than expected.
Tosh stumbled into the Hub through the cogwheel door, breathless and dishevelled, her normally silky-smooth hair in a rat’s nest tangle.
“Why didn’t anyone tell me it’s blowing a gale out there?” she grumbled, brushing hair out of her eyes. “I thought I was going to be swept right off my feet! I must look a sight.”
“Sorry, Tosh,” Ianto said. “It hit unexpectedly. I tried to reach you, but the wind seems to be affecting the comms. signal, and you left your phone here. Jack went out looking for you though.”
“I didn’t see him.” Dropping onto the sofa, Tosh pulled out a comb and started trying to untangle her hair.
“Let me help you with that.”
Tosh smiled. “Thanks, Ianto.”
“That’s what friends are for.”
