Double Drabble: Work-Related

Summary: Ianto is feeling the effects of a long workday.

A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto had a headache. He also had backache, leg ache, sore joints, aching eyes… It would probably have been quicker and simpler to list the parts of his body that didn’t currently hurt, because there weren’t any. If he’d gone to a doctor with his list of aches and pains, he’d have most likely been diagnosed with flu, or sent for tests to rule out a number of serious conditions.
Truth was, he was just suffering from work. Being a Torchwood agent was a frequently painful occupation.
The headache was from an alien siren down in the archives that had accidentally been triggered. It had taken almost an hour to turn it off. The backache was from helping carry the biggest, heaviest Weevil he’d ever seen, now named Goliath. The leg ache was from the running he’d done beforehand, and the sore joints mostly the result of celebrating Goliath’s capture in the SUV’s backseat. Ianto remembered impersonating a pretzel rather well. His aching eyes were from helping Tosh track down an error in one of her programmes. Staring intently at computer screens for several hours had that effect on most people.
Thank heaven for coffee, and Owen’s industrial strength painkillers.
