“What’re you doing?” Jack asked, leaning over Tosh’s shoulder to get a closer look at whatever she was working on. He reached towards the device. “Oooh, is that a…”
“Don’t touch!” Tosh slapped his hand hard enough for it to smart, and he jerked it back.
“Ow! What did you do that for? I thought I was the boss around here!”
Tosh blushed. “You are. Sorry, it’s just that I’ve spent over an hour getting all the pieces into the right places ready for soldering. If you touch it you’ll mess it up, and I don’t want to have to start over.”
“You could’ve just said that without hitting me.” Jack rubbed his sore hand, pouting. In truth it wasn’t smarting now, but he didn’t want his tech genius thinking she could just go around slapping him. It set a bad precedent.
“That never works, so Ianto told me I should slap your hand next time you were interfering with my work.”
“Ianto? That traitor!” Jack stalked off to confront his lover, who was making coffee.
“Tosh just slapped me! She said you told her to do it!”
“That’s right.” Ianto turned to Jack, smiling. “Shall I kiss it better?”
