Buffy’s familiar with rain despite living in one on the sunnier states; California isn’t a desert, or most of it isn’t… wasn’t there something in geography about Californian deserts? She doesn’t remember. Still, rain is one thing; this is… something else. Does America get monsoons?
Maybe it’s a tropical storm, except California isn’t in the tropics. Or is it? She sucks at geography almost as badly as she sucks at history, but who needs all these subjects anyway? The rate things are going she’s not going to live long enough for anything she learns in school to be of any use. Well duh! She’s the Slayer, and Slayers are notoriously short-lived. At present her life expectancy can probably be counted in days.
Spike and Drusilla have resurrected the Judge, and there’s no known way to kill him. That would be bad enough, but this storm is making everything worse. Seriously, how can there possibly be so much water in the sky? Shouldn’t the clouds be empty by now? Did someone move Niagara Falls when she wasn’t looking?
The rain hammers down on her so hard it hurts, but she’s already soaked through, can’t get any wetter. Sunnydale’s never felt colder.
