Having her old friend and pre-teen crush Billy Fordham drop back into her life had been like a dream come true. After so long, seeing his familiar and oh so cute face right there in front of her at Sunnydale High had made Buffy want to pinch herself, just to be sure he wasn’t some figment of her imagination. Better looking than she’d remembered, and as happy to see her as she’d been to see him, he’d been just the tonic she’d needed to give her flagging spirits a boost.
But everything he’d told her had been a lie. There was never any transfer to Sunnydale, and while he’d wanted to see her, it had only been so that he could sacrifice her life for a chance at immortality.
She’d thought she knew him, had been thrilled that he knew she was the Slayer because that way she wouldn’t have to hide anything from him. He could become part of her little gang, and maybe she could have a proper boyfriend, a nice, normal guy she could go on dates with, even hang out with in daylight…
Wrong.
Now here she was in the cemetery, waiting for him to rise from his grave so she could stake him through the heart before he could hurt anyone, although it was a bit late for that. He’d already hurt her, betrayed her to Spike and his gang, and nearly gotten a bunch of other kids killed. She wished he’d never come here.
