A/N: Double drabble.

After several months alone in her small, bare cell, Tosh had resigned herself to spending the rest of her life locked away from the world. Maybe it was no more than she deserved for committing treason by building that horrible sonic modulator. She’d known it was wrong at the time, but what else could she have done? Her mother’s life had been at stake; wouldn’t anyone else have done the same to save someone they loved?

Perhaps if she’d told someone about her mother’s abduction and the threats the kidnappers had made, but if she’d done that her mother would most likely have been killed. Complying with their demands had seemed the only way of freeing her. She’d traded her mother’s freedom for her own.

But now she’d been given another option; five years of servitude in return for her freedom, and what was five years when measured against the rest of her life? Surely it had to be better than enduring decades as a prisoner with no rights and no hope of release.

She barely needed to think about it; one simple word would set her free, give her a chance to do something good with her life.

“Yes.”
