A/N: Double drabble.
Torchwood Three’s security was second to none, thanks to a combination of Tosh’s computer genius, Mainframe’s impenetrable organic technology firewalls, and the judicial use of alien devices that were far more sensitive to breaches than anything humans had so far developed. Yet despite all that there’d still somehow been an information leak. How else could a reporter from one of the tabloids have found out not only where Torchwood’s base of operations was located but how to get inside, using one of the secret entrances off the sewers?
“They couldn’t have got the information off our computer systems or our servers,” Tosh insisted. “There’s no evidence of hacking, and even the most skilled hacker would leave traces of their presence. There’s no technology on earth that can fool Mainframe. Maybe someone was followed.”
“None of us even use that entrance; it’s an emergency backup escape route!” After all, who would voluntarily traipse through the sewers if they didn’t have to?
“Um…” Owen shuffled his feet nervously and Jack turned to glare at him, eyes narrowed.
“Owen? D’you know something about this?”
“I trap rats in the sewers; for scientific purposes.”
“Please don’t tell me you left the secret door open!”
