Ianto put his phone away and stepped back into his sister’s living room, sighing heavily.
“Sorry, Rhi, I’ve got to go. That was my boss; duty calls.”
“Ianto Jones, don’t be so bloody ridiculous!” Rhi snapped. “It’s after seven on a Sunday evening; what could the Welsh Tourist Board possibly want from you that won’t wait until Monday morning?” She stood there glaring at Ianto, hands on her hips, and he suddenly felt about six-years-old, being berated yet again by his teenaged sister for making up stories.
“Rhi, don’t start. My boss has an important meeting first thing in the morning and he’s having computer issues. Some essential facts and figures have got messed up and he needs my help to sort them out. It wouldn’t do for him to report the wrong statistics to his superiors; it wouldn’t just be his job on the line, it would be mine too for letting it happen.”
It was another lie of course, but he could hardly tell Rhi his pet pteranodon had arrived back at the Hub with a boa contractor wrapped around her and Jack needed his help because she wouldn’t let anyone else get close enough to untangle her.
