A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto was hiding from the rest of the team in a place he was pretty sure nobody would think to look, the back stairs leading up to the little cubbyhole behind the Tourist Office. Nobody used those stairs if they could avoid it, they were steep and badly lit, there in the unlikely event that the lift might be unusable. Most of the team probably weren’t even aware they existed.
They’d been his refuge while Jack was gone and the others were arguing over who should be the leader, and then arguing some more every time anything had to be decided, from what to do about an alien incursion to what to order for lunch.
Things had been a little better since Jack returned, everyone happy to let their leader take responsibility for any tough decisions, which he’d done. Only now Jack had put the cat among the pigeons by deciding there should be a rota for some of the most unpleasant tasks. The idea had not gone down well.
A voice broke into Ianto’s thoughts. “Come here often?”
“Jack, what’re you doing here?”
“Hiding, same as you.”
“You can’t hide, you’re the boss.”
Jack sighed. “Try telling them that!”
