Summary: Jack and Ianto take on the task of retrieving a stolen relic.

A/N: Double drabble. Set in my Ghost of a Chance ‘Verse
When they weren’t transporting cargo, Jack and Ianto occasionally took on other jobs, helping people with various problems. This time, they were helping colonists whose most treasured Holy relic had been stolen, along with some of their supplies, en route to their new home.
They weren’t so much worried about the supplies, which could be replaced, but getting their relic back was vital to the success of the new colony. Without it, they were convinced their crops would fail, that the whole venture would be doomed.
Ianto looked at the holographic representation they’d been given to help them identify the missing item. “Looks like a panel off a Dalek casing.”
“I’d say that’s exactly what it is, but that’s not important; all that matters is what it represents to these people. Different races attach religious significance to all kinds of objects; it’s not our place to judge them. Perhaps long ago they defeated a Dalek and its casing came to signify triumph over seemingly impossible odds; we’ll probably never know. But their home planet has allowed then to take this precious relic into space and they’ve lost it. They want it back so we’ll do our best to find it.”
