A/N: Double drabble.

Ever since Ianto had learned Jack was from the fifty-first century he’d been curious about what life had been like for him, growing up on another planet far in the future.

Naturally, Jack had been wary at first, not wanting to risk the timelines by talking about evens that wouldn’t come to pass for hundreds or even thousands of years, but as he and Ianto had grown closer Jack had realised Ianto wasn’t interested in future history, he didn’t care about big, dramatic, universe changing advances in science or technology.

What Ianto wanted to hear about was Jack’s home, his family, his childhood.

“Well, the Boeshane peninsula was a tongue of land reaching out into the ocean on the edge of a continent that was mostly desert. Or will be in three thousand years.” Jack frowned. “Maybe it already is; I mean no one from earth has been there yet. My parents were… will be, among the first wave of colonists to settle there, but it took five years before they were established enough to start a family…”

Ianto chuckled. “Maybe you should stick with past tense; it’s your past, even though it’s everyone else’s future.”

Jack nodded. “Good point.”
