They've been playing ads on Ch10's digital channel for this, either 11 or ONE, I forget which; so they're obviously planning on airing the U.S. version here too.
I've actually never seen the aussie one (know of it though), and I had been wondering how well it would translate.
Casting Elijah was a good move. Love him.

From the little I watched on youtube it looks like it won't be TOO bad a translation. I Loved all 2/3 seasons here on SBS and can't believe I've seen them flog US Shameless and US Being Human (no no, i only watch the awesome brit originals TYVM) and haven't once seen Wilfred!

Elijah needs more screen time, preferably the bigger the better but I'll take him on the smaller side on the regular in a HEART BEAT!

From what I read in Entertainment Weekly (yeah, yeah, don't hurt me) Wilfred should be reasonably close to the Aussie version, as far as censors here will allow it to be. Jason Gann is creative director, not just an actor, so I'm hoping that he will make it as close to the original as possible. Audiences here might not be able to handle the humour the same way - I saw the Aussie original and what is shown on telly there would never be shown here. I always have to re-adjust my brain whenever I head back downunder! Casual swearing is always blanked out here, while it's completely commonplace in Australia and New Zealand. Still, I have my fingers crossed. Elijah Wood seems to be happy with it!

Yeah I can't imagine the american's will be as lucky as we were with the swearing, especially since its not on HBO but I think you're right, Elijah Wood is in it so

TOTALLY WORTH WATCHING FOR THE PRETTY EYES FACTOR ALONE

I'd maybe be able to survive 2 episode but probably not any after that lol. But I'm also one of those people that has always hated The Office and My Name Is Earl....lol and this is kind of the same type of comedy

Don't tinkle so...McDreamy left Mer! Christina scheduled an abortion! And I can't think of anything else cuz I haven't watched it since the finale that aired here like 4 weeks ago lol

yeah ALL of that! All of it was believable. Stupid Meridith STUPID Army dude trying to MAKE Christina want a baby
