I was rummaging around my stuff, and realised I never got round to posting this little thing I wrote for

“I didn't mean what I said,” she tells him.
This part reminded me of that scene in 'Pusher' when Mulder hands his gun over to Scully, in which he's the one who doesn't look at her. And "the ugly things between them they never address" - the dysfunctional parts of relationships are some of my favourite parts to explore. Also, I am so gone for Melissa that this was really really heartbreaking to read.

Me too, I never bought the Mulder & Scully happy 4EVA, some fanfic try to sell us. The dysfunctional parts of their relationship is what makes them so damn interesting. These two love each other in many ways but they also both carry a lot of baggage that gets in the way. And I wouldn't have them any other way.
Melissa never got enough screen time. Her relationship with her sister and her mother could have been more developped. Did you ever see the deleted scene from Anasazi where she and Scully argue whether Mulder is dead or not?

Me either! I guess there's the fluffy sort of escapist fic in which HEAs are mandatory. I enjoy those with some characters, but I don't find them very believable for Scully and Mulder either. I was just rewatching 'Detour' when I saw your message. While S & M's (heh) very corporatised colleagues were hilarious, the episode did kind of make the point that there are things that Scully and Mulder don't/can't talk about.
No, I haven't seen that! Must look it up. *youtubing now*

We should start doing 155 challenges, like Scullyfic did, back in the day.
