Oh badfic...you make me giggle. [Rurouni Kenshin fandom]

Rejoice all, for I am about to embark upon my first ever spork!

So, in this jewel of a fic (which, while not marked as such, is clearly an AU), Kaoru's father has created a time machine, Kaoru is dreaming about Kenshin, fangirl Japanese is abused, and Kaoru is magically transported into the past to meet Battousai.

As usual, sporking is in bold.

talking his idiom
That made me laugh really, REALLY hard, and I have no idea why.

Also, fangirl Japanese for the lose. *flails* I'm afraid to read beyond your sporking.

Haha! You aren't the only one. I nearly choked on my watermelon...which would have been terrible, cuz this is really good watermelon. XD

I hate that. I never choke on, like, broccoli. It's always cake or something.

Talking his idiom makes me think the author's first language is Spanish. But then again, she got 'language' right earlier in the sentence, so who knows.

I have no idea. I think the word she was looking for was "dialect," perhaps? But I really don't know. However, speaking an "idiom" made me chuckle quite heartily.

But...Kaoru is Japanese. So...why can't she speak Japanese in the fic...? Ohhh, canon, I miss you. T_T

'May I came in', indeed...*snorts*

I wondered this as well. In fact, it took me re-reading the second chapter about 20 times to figure out that she didn't speak Japanese...supposedly. Also, her family was apparently from Lisbon, and they were forced out...but it doesn't say to where...Oh badfic, you make no sense.

Haha, I think she confused fangirl Japanese with Spanish? Or maybe any language will do.

This kind of reminds me of that fic where the mermaid was speaking a 'magic' language that was just backwards Spanish XD I don't even know why.

The mere idea of this gives me a headache.
But I have to protest: Kimono aren't just for women. The Kimono (The word is used for traditional Japanese clothes nowadays but generally only means "something to wear/clothes") of men are just less colourful and don't have the extremely long sleves those for unmarried girls have.
Alright, I'll stop...

Ah, is that so? I did not know that. Nonetheless, however, I have never seen Battousai wearing a kimono of any color. I'm pretty sure he wears hakama and hakama-shita (though, upon further research, I have found it called a 'short kimono'). However, I will admit that I did not know that the word meant clothing in general, so I apologize. Thanks for edumacating me. Learn something new every day, huh? ;)

Glad I could pass on some knowledge.
No need to feel bad about it - many people get that wrong because in anime/fandom the word is mainly used when refering to young girls or women.
